About Me - Biography

Hello and welcome to my official website.

This is the place to come to find out what’s happening in my world. You will find photos, videos of past races, interviews and all my latest athletics news.

I started my athletics career as an enthusiastic 7 year old and I have spent the past two decades developing my talent to emerge as one of Great Britain’s finest athletes.

As a school aged athlete I enjoyed early successes winning the English Schools and AAA’s National titles at 800m.

In my junior years I moved to the 400m, again gaining national titles, with my proudest achievement being crowned “World Junior Champion” as part of the victorious 4x400m team in Santiago, Chile.

A regular in the Great Britain and N.I team since 2002, I reverted back to the 800m event in 2005 and first broke the illustrious 2 minute barrier for 800m – both indoors and outdoors during 2007.

In 2008 I won the European Cup and was thrilled to represent Great Britain at the Olympic Games in Beijing and in 2009 I won the bronze medal in the 800m at the World Championships in Berlin.

2010 has been amazing so far. In February I broke the stadium 800m record with a time of 2:00.91 at the Aviva UK Championships, Sheffield. In the same month I broke the British indoor 800m record (formerly held by Kelly Holmes) with a time of 1:59:11 at the Aviva Grand Prix, Birmingham.

Watch out for future successes and thanks for your support.
